Registration and Payment:

You can register and pay for your class in one of several ways:

1. Online: Click HERE to register and pay now via credit card.

2. In person: Visit the Boarding House at the Historic Johnson Farm (see address below) during open hours (M-F, 10-3) to complete a class registration form and make your payment via cash or check.

3. By mail: Click HERE for the Registration Form, then download and print the form. Complete the form and mail (see address below) with a check made out to Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists.

Beginner Rigid Heddle
Class Description: This 3 day class is for the beginning weaver with the goals of giving participants a firm understanding of basic weave structure and the confidence to explore and have fun. We will begin with learning the basics of weave structure, warping the loom, and begin weaving plain weave. Next we will begin exploring a few plain weave variations and simple decorative weave structures, and play with novelty yarns. There will be a class project of your choice at the end of the week.

Fee: Payable by cash, check or credit card
$90.00 for HWFA members (must have completed orientation at time of registration)
$100.00 for non-HWFA members

Prerequisites: None
Maximum number of students: 4
Materials provided by instructor: Yarn, shuttles and Cricket looms (for use in class)
Materials fee: $25.00 (payable in cash to instructor first day of class)
Materials brought by student: Participants should bring a tape measure, sharp scissors, pad and pen for notes and a big SMILE! Bring lunch and a drink if you wish to remain after class to practice.

Additional information: Park at the Historic Johnson Farm Interpretive Center and walk to the Boarding House. Handicapped parking is available at the Boarding House. Please note, as a historic building, the Boarding House is not handicapped accessible.
