Registration and Payment:

You can register and pay for your class in one of several ways:

1. Online: Click HERE to register and pay now via credit card.

2. In person: Visit the Boarding House at the Historic Johnson Farm (see address below) during open hours (M-F, 10-3) to complete a class registration form and make your payment via cash or check.

3. By mail: Click HERE for the Registration Form, then download and print the form. Complete the form and mail (see address below) with a check made out to Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists.

Elegant Basket Purse with Leather Handles

Class Description: This is an advanced basket class where we will create a 9” X 7” purse, perfect for carrying just the essentials. What makes this basket elevated and unique is the use of very fine reed materials and a refined wood bottom. We will be attaching real leather handles using a Nantucket-type bone dome assembly, giving it a New England feel. Although this is a utilitarian basket, it has the look and feel of a finely crafted custom accessory.

Fee: Payable by cash, check or credit card
$80.00 for HWFA members (must have completed orientation at time of registration)
$90.00 for non-HWFA members

Prerequisites: This is an advanced basket and all students must have taken the Beginners Basket class or have prior basket making experience.
Maximum number of students: 5
Materials provided by instructor: All materials and tools provided
Materials fee: $45.00 (payable in cash to instructor first day of class)
Materials brought by student: Lunch and drink

Additional information: Park at the Historic Johnson Farm Interpretive Center and walk to the Boarding House. Handicapped parking is available at the Boarding House. Please note, as a historic building, the Boarding House is not handicapped accessible.
