Registration and Payment:

You can register and pay for your class in one of several ways:

1. Online: Click HERE to register and pay now via credit card.

2. In person: Visit the Boarding House at the Historic Johnson Farm (see address below) during open hours (M-F, 10-3) to complete a class registration form and make your payment via cash, check or credit card.

3. By mail: Click HERE for the Registration Form, then download and print the form. Complete the form and mail (see address below) with a check made out to Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists.

Rigid Heddle Pattern Class

Class Description: 

Turn your plain weave into anything but plain weave. With pick-up sticks create warp and weft floats, learn decorative hemstitching, finger manipulated lace weaves, create a tapestry-like effect with clasped weft and try overshot snowmen - create a sampler you will use for inspiration for years to come.

$60.00 for HWFA members (must have completed orientation at time of registration)
$70.00 for non-HWFA members

Prerequisites: 
Know how to warp the loom.  Please let me know when you register if you have your own loom or need to borrow a loom. 
Maximum number of students: 6
Materials provided by instructor: Instructor will provide yarn, handouts and some pickup sticks  - all materials included in price of class.
Materials fee: none (payable in cash to instructor first day of class)
Materials brought by student: lunch and drink, bring: 10" or wider Rigid Heddle Loom, threading hook, 10 dent heddle, 2 table clamps, 2 stick shuttles,  pickup sticks various widths, scissors, #13 tapestry needle for hemstitching and sticky notes.

Additional information: Park at the Historic Johnson Farm Interpretive Center and walk to the Boarding House. Handicapped parking is available at the Boarding House. Please note, as a historic building, the Boarding House is not handicapped accessible.
